KOI CLUBS
Scottish Koi Club
The Scottish Koi Club is a growing club that welcomes
koi keepers of every level to its events and prides itself
on being interesting, informative and, above all, friendly.
From February through to November we meet on the
second Sunday of the month from 1pm at Mount Vernon,
with speakers and other organised events.
For the rest of the year the Scottish Koi Club adopt a
more informal style, holding our meetings at members’
houses and viewing their ponds for a relaxing evening of
chat between friends. With organised events, a monthly
newsletter, guest speakers, trips, open ponds and
general chat.
We put on special weekend days for new members to
attend and will start by showing you basic koi care and
handling, how to catch a koi safely and check them for
any problems that might be occurring, sedation and
treatment, scraping your koi for signs of parasites – all
supervised by one of the Scottish Koi Club members.
Show weekends are always a special occasion, all
members pull together to make sure everyone including
the public enjoy their visit to the show, nearby hotels are
booked up and evening meals are organised between
members – the banter is always brilliant.
Our two day Scottish Koi Show is held every September
and we welcome all newcomers and regular visitors to
the show, pop in for a chat and a catch up, look at the
stunning koi on show and hopefully win something on
the prize raffle.
We welcome new members to share our hobby, and if
you would like to join our club then contact Andrew, our
Chairman, on 01555 880409 or Bob, our Secretary, on
01387 710892.
