THE ALL ENGLAND
KOI SHOW
Presented by The South East Koi Club
This was our 33rd Open Show and on Wednesday,
prior to the Show, as always, there were many South
East Koi Club members at the Showground ready to
set up the Show, so by the end of the day we were
filling vats which continued over night. By Thursday
lunchtime the major part of the work was completed
and it was just a case of sorting out a few cosmetics.
The Koi Dealers arrived on Friday, all our regulars that
we all know, including some new Dealers to our Show;
A FEW NEW Darren of Absolute Koi, who apart from bringing some
high quality Koi also had a comprehensive range of
KOI DEALERS ProfiDrum Filters; Chris from Perfect Aquatics didn’t
JOINED US AT just bring Koi he also set up a complete Marine
Aquarium bringing another dimension to the Show;
THE SHOW another Dealer new to our Show was Barry of
Clearwater Koi. I was sorry that Neil of Dock Koi
couldn’t make it, I spoke to him before the Show when
he told me he had only a few Koi left and it didn’t
warrant him taking a stand at the Show, but was off to
Japan next year in January.
It was a very busy day as Exhibitors were bringing in
their Koi for benching too. By the end of Friday 348 Koi
had been benched and everything was ready to go.
Our International Team of Judges arrived and after
taking refreshments split into two teams and began the
process of judging the Show. This year we introduced a
new feature into the judging procedure when Raad
Hassan, a well known, respected hobbyist joined the
Judges in order to listen and observe how the judging
Grand Champion procedure works. Needless to say, Raad was not
