Grand Champion Award Setup began on Wednesday when all the equipment
presented to Adam Richardson. was moved to the venue and the vats were assembled.
Left to right: Keith Bertie, Thursday was a very busy day getting to know our new
Adam Richardson and venue – what worked what didn’t. The team worked

Management (UK) Limited. hard to ensure the vats were ready for the Koi to arrive
early on Friday morning. The water team, our very own
Team Pondy, kept a vigilant eye on how the vat set up
was working and the welfare of all the beautiful Koi
throughout the Show. David Edge monitored the water
quality in the vats all weekend ensuring the highest
standards were met. Thank you David for all your hard
work. We hope you enjoy the rewards that your Koi
deservedly won for you. A special mention must go to
our overnight team, who cared for the Koi over the
weekend – thank you. Benching started at mid-day on
Friday. Our two benching teams worked hard and by
the end of the day we had all but two vats benched,
these were completed on Saturday morning. Well done
guys. In all 23 vats were filled with some stunning Koi.
Our BKKS judges this year were Kieron Burns,
Christine Woolger, Stefan Malm and trainee, Jasmine
Ryan. Our thanks go to them for their patience as
judging was delayed due to a technical glitch.
We had several trade stands as part of the Show; Ace
of Koi, DracoDrum, Burtons Aquatics Systems and a
display stand for Connoisseur Yoshikigoi and this gave
the Koi keepers who visited the Show a chance to
Christine and Kieron carry
out their Judging duties.
