I visited Avenue Fisheries, in Wyboston, earlier in the
year and Pam showed me around their premises, but
said I should visit later in the year when the trees were
in leaf to see Avenue Fisheries at its best. It was a
warm sunny day in September and I decided to have a
run out to Avenue Fisheries again and see what it was
like in the sunshine.
As I entered Avenue Fisheries from the car park, in
front of me was a number of brick built ponds holding
a wide selection of Koi of different varieties and sizes.
There were fountains and waterfalls set against a
backdrop of maple trees, creating a quiet, relaxing
atmosphere conducive to viewing Koi and the
background sound of running water completed the
experience.
A brick built shop sited at the entrance, displayed a
wide selection of Koi food, nets, pumps, medications,
etc – everything a Koi keeper needs. At the far end,
huge greenhouses hold more large display ponds and
a large quarantine facility for new stock.

Avenue Fisheries is owned by Steve and Pam Field
and has been established for over 40 years. Their
continued success can be put down to them simply
offering a sincere, well informed service, which has
been rewarded by personal recommendations made
by generations of satisfied customers over the years.

Pam manages the Koi side of the business and Steve
regularly visits Japan to purchase new stocks from
