KOI NET
THE ON-LINE KOI MAGAZINE
I’ve been a fishkeeper all my life and a koi-keeper since
1978 and have seen so many changes over the years,
both in equipment used and the koi-keeping methods.
With this in mind, I thought it would be a good time to
launch an On-line Koi Magazine.
I discussed this idea with a few of my like-minded
friends; Bernice Brewster of Aquatic Consultancy
Service; Bernie Woollands, who is both a BKKS and a
ZNA Judge; Syd Mitchell, an experienced and prolific
writer on all aspects of water, filtration and water
treatment; Mark Davis, of Cuttlebrook Koi Farm, who is
an experienced and long established breeder of koi in the
UK; and a number of UK Koi dealers, who all agreed to
give the project their support.
It is planned to cover all aspects of keeping koi and to
appeal to all levels of koi-keeping experience. It will
cover international and national news and events, also
news from Koi Clubs and BKKS sections around the UK.
There are still a number of Koi Clubs in the UK and I
believe promoting these Clubs is an effective way of
© Koi net. Nothing in this
magazine may be reproduced promoting our hobby, I recognised long ago at my own
in whole or part without the
written permission of the Koi Club that koi-keepers fall into a wide range of
publishers. The publisher, categories, some want a pond as a feature in their
editor and authors accept no garden, others are fanatical about water quality and
responsibility in respect of any
products, goods or services filtration, others enjoy taking part in the show scene, my
that may be advertised or personal interest is in breeding koi. My objective is to
referred to in this issue or for
any errors and omissions. produce information which is of interest to you all.
The views expressed are not
necessarily those of the
publisher, editor or anyone David Brown
else, but the author of the
editorial.
